Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan
Abdulhafiz Ashurzoda was elected Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan on March 29, 2019 on proposal of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Abdulhafiz Ashurzoda was born on May 11, 1964 in the city of Penjikent, Sughd region. He has a higher education and graduated Tajik National University in 1991 with a degree in jurisprudence.
He began his career in 1981 in various positions.
He has worked in the judicial system since 1988 and has held various positions in the judicial system, including:
from December 1988 to May 1992 – bailiff of the Frunzensky District Court (now the Sino District);
from May 1992 to January 1994 – acting judge of the Frunzensky District Court (now the Sino District);
from January 1996 to November 2003 – judge of the Dushanbe Economic Court;
from November 2003 to April 2010 – judge of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan;
from April 2010 to May 2012 – First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan;
from May 2012 to April 2015 – First Deputy Chairman of the Dushanbe City Court;
from April 2015 to March 2019 – First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In 2011, he was awarded the State award “1st degree Sharaf” and other industry awards. He is married and has 8 children.
