REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF TAJIKISTAN PARTICIPATED AT THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
On April 25-28, 2022 Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan Valizoda Sh.O. participated in the International Symposium on “Interpretation of the Constitution in relation to the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms” dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara, Turkey, and delivered speech on “The role of the Constitutional Court in protecting constitutional values.”
Representatives of the constitutional control bodies of various countries and influential international organizations, such as Indonesia, Uzbekistan, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Philippines, Mongolia, South Korea, Azerbaijan, the Venice Commission of the European Council took part in this international event initiated by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, representatives of the Turkish judiciary, legal scholars and others.
The symposium began with the participation and opening speech of the President of the Republic of Turkey.
Various issues related to constitutionalism, the role of the Constitutional Court in ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution, protection of constitutional human and civil rights, the role of constitutional justice in the implementation of constitutional values, the principle of separation of powers, consolidation of democracy, strengthening democracy and other topical issues of the jurisprudence were widely discussed.
The international event had been held in high level and it provided a favorable basis for the presentation of the practice of constitutional judicial control of the Republic of Tajikistan as an important democratic phenomenon, as well as the development of international relations of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.
