PARTICIPATION OF THE DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE THEME “WOMEN IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM: DIALOGUE, DEVELOPMENT AND JUSTICE”

On 15 July 2026, an international conference on the theme “Women in the Justice System: Dialogue, Development and Justice” was held at the initiative of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the role of women in strengthening the judiciary, exchange international experience, consider issues related to ensuring gender equality in the judicial system, and identify ways to enhance women’s participation in the activities of judicial bodies.

The conference was attended by heads and representatives of state authorities, judicial and law enforcement bodies, international organizations, academic circles, and civil society institutions. During the sessions, issues related to the development of state policy aimed at enhancing the status of women, strengthening legal guarantees for their participation in the justice system, as well as expanding international cooperation in this area were discussed.

The conference was attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan, D. R. Abdurahimzoda, who delivered a speech on the topic “The Role of Women in the Development of the Judiciary in the Republic of Tajikistan.” In his speech, he emphasized that in the Republic of Tajikistan, under the leadership of the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, and within the framework of the state policy on supporting women and the family, consistent measures are being implemented aimed at enhancing the status of women in society, ensuring equality of rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as expanding women’s participation in public administration. It was noted that creating effective legal and institutional conditions for the equal realization of women’s professional, scientific, and managerial potential, ensuring fair competition in the selection and promotion of personnel, as well as broader involvement of women in making important judicial and administrative decisions are among the priority areas for the development of the judicial system. At the same time, it was emphasized that the active participation of women in the activities of judicial bodies contributes to improving professionalism, strengthening justice, and increasing public confidence in the judiciary.

During the continuation of the conference, representatives of ministries and agencies, judicial bodies, international organizations, and other relevant institutions delivered presentations on various aspects of women’s participation in the justice system, issues related to human resources development, strengthening international cooperation, and implementing best practices. The participants also exchanged views on ways to improve legal and institutional mechanisms aimed at ensuring the active participation of women in the justice system.

Following the conference, the importance of further developing effective cooperation between state bodies, judicial institutions, academic institutions, and development partners was emphasized in order to strengthen the role of women in the justice system and implement joint initiatives aimed at the further development of this area.
